Who We Are
ATAS is a non–profit international association of autonomous Alexander Technique Societies that share a desire to maintain high standards in teacher training. As a supportive alliance, each member Society of ATAS is equal and affiliated to one another.​
Strengthening mutual understanding and collaboration between the member Societies leads to heightened international awareness of the Alexander Technique, creates a foundation to exchange ideas, and encourages innovative joint projects.
ATAS believes that Alexander Technique is an important educational tool that can have a profound impact on the lives of individuals around the world. By creating an engaged international community, ATAS strengthens the ability of its member Societies to support their teachers, elevate their professional skills, and encourage them to flourish.

ATAS’s mission is to support member Societies and uphold international high standards for professional teacher training, certification, and conduct.
Our Vision
ATAS’s vision is to steward the continued international legacy of Alexander Technique so that the public commonly recognizes and uses the Technique to lead a more self–determined and healthier life.

The Secretariat oversees the governance of ATAS and acts as the custodian of the ATAS Agreement. The Secretariat is composed of members from different Affiliated Societies and are equal in standing to each other.
